Aeromonas Salmonicida Bacterin

For Veterinary Use Only

This bacterin contains formalin inactivated cultures of Aeromonas salmonicida.

No other preservative is added.

Uses

As an aid in the prevention of furunculosis caused by Aeromonas salmonicida.

For the vaccination of healthy Koi carp (Cyprinus carpio) as an aid to the prevention of carp erythrodermatitis (ulcer disease) caused by atypical Aeromonas salmonicida sub-species nova.

Vaccination Program

This bacterin has been shown to be safe and effective when administered by manual intraperitoneal injection to salmonids 5 g or larger. Vaccination should precede exposure of vaccinates to the disease agent by 400 degree-days (number of days multiplied by the mean water temperature (°C) during period).

This bacterin has been shown to be safe and effective when administered by manual intraperitoneal injection to Koi carp 10 g or larger. Vaccination should precede exposure of vaccinates to the disease agent by 800 degree-days (number of days multiplied by the mean water temperature (°C) during period).

Furogen Dosage And Administration

Fish are anaesthetized to immobilize and given a 0.1 mL injection intraperitoneally one fin length ahead of the pelvic fins along the midline.

Furogen Caution

1. Shake well before using.

2. Store between 2 - 8°C (35 - 46°F). DO NOT FREEZE

3. Use entire contents when first opened.

4. Vaccinate healthy fish only.

5. Do not vaccinate salmon within 21 days of slaughter.

6. Any unused bacterin should be disposed of according to local waste disposal regulations and /or requirements.

7. If accidental injection of the operator occurs, the operator should discontinue activity and seek medical attention immediately.
